Hi, everyone. Mike Urbanowicz here from Faith Over CP, and I want to take a moment to say Happy New Year to everyone. As we enter this new year, I’m filled with gratitude and reflection, and I want to share some heartfelt updates and a little bit of our journey with you all. At Faith Over CP, our mission is clear: Faith Over CP is raising awareness about cerebral palsy and finding innovative ways to make an impact.
First, let me say a big thank you to all our new Facebook supporters and friends. Over 1,000 people joined us last month on this journey. Your belief in our mission, your likes, shares, and words of encouragement mean the world to us. It reminds me that the work we’re doing isn’t just for my daughter Sophie or the kids we’ve already reached—it’s for the 18 million people living with cerebral palsy around the globe. With every step, Faith Over CP is raising awareness about cerebral palsy and creating a brighter future.
Challenges with a Name That Means EverythingAs many of you know, Faith Over CP hasn’t had the easiest road. What started as a name full of meaning—“Faith Over Cerebral Palsy”—has been misunderstood time and time again. Facebook algorithms flagged us repeatedly, interpreting CP as something it’s not!
We’ve been unable to grow on platforms like Instagram, stuck at around 300 followers, while our vital work often went unnoticed. This misunderstanding slowed our momentum and hindered our efforts to make a difference.
It’s frustrating, to say the least. We’re fighting to bring awareness to a cause so close to my heart, to help people see that cerebral palsy affects millions of people—yet we’ve faced barriers at every turn just because of the name we chose to represent our mission.
Fighting for Faith Over CPOne of the hardest moments for me was traveling to Panama with one of my inventions—a tracking device hidden in the tongue of a shoe designed to help combat child trafficking. This was meant to be a groundbreaking moment for our organization, showing how our work could extend beyond orthotics to make a real difference in the fight against exploitation.
But instead of being recognized, our work was overshadowed. Our name was flagged, and the story of what we were trying to do—how we’re using technology and innovation to fight for children—was drowned out. It hurt. It hurt a lot.
Faith and Resilience: But here’s the thing: we’re not giving up. At its core, Faith Over CP is about more than just one battle—it’s about resilience. It’s about finding strength in adversity and believing in a better future.
This past year has been one of incredible challenges but also incredible growth. Thank you to those of you who have stood by us. You are the reason we keep going and fighting to break through barriers and build a more inclusive, understanding, and supportive world.
Looking Ahead As we head into 2025, I’m excited to keep pushing forward with new projects and partnerships. From innovative orthotics to creating awareness for cerebral palsy to standing up for kids everywhere—we’re just starting.
And to @MarkZuckerberg and the Facebook team, thank you for finally allowing us to progress on your platform. With over 1,000 new friends last month, I can finally see people hearing our story.
@JoeRogan, I’d love to sit with you and share this journey in more detail. Your platform has been a voice for so many causes, and we need the world to hear about Faith Over CP, the fight against cerebral palsy, and our efforts to combat child trafficking through innovation.
Closing ThoughtsTo everyone reading this, let’s carry the spirit of hope, determination, and faith into the new year. Let’s continue building something that will leave a lasting legacy for the kids we’re fighting for today and future generations.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we can create a world that believes in Faith Over CP.
Happy New Year,
Mike Urbanowicz
